Frequently Asked
Questions

More detailed FAQs specific for Maternity,
Newborn, and the Purple Stork sessions are available upon request. E-mail me at [email protected]

What to expect?

For booking sessions, I encourage you to plan your day and to schedule at the child’s ‘best time’ of day. This may require adjustment of schedules on the parent’s part. It is important for us not to rush a session.

The most important thing is for everyone to be relaxed and have fun with each other. The best shots come from the most unexpected moments and need to be caught in the blink of an eye.

I try to foster an atmosphere of family and friendship and FUN! I like to get to know the child before we start and may play some games with them to get them more comfortable with me and the camera.

How long will it last?

Your session will last for about 1 hour (it can go as fast as 20 minutes if luck is on our side), depending on the mood/temperament of your child . We all want to get the best shots possible during our time together but I also acknowledge that children are often unpredictable. If the shoot time is not maximized due to a child who isn’t “in the mood” then the photographer and parents may agree to re-schedule the shoot free of charge, so don’t worry.

What to wear?

Once you have booked your session, I will be sending you an information pack that has recommendations. I do have some tutus and headpieces and hats and props but no costumes as that is not my style of photography.

When is the best time to book a Maternity Session?

I encourage moms-to-be to book their sessions ahead of time (31-35 weeks is the ideal period for a maternity shoot). Bellies are at their best shape and size at this time. I will send you an FAQ sheet once you have confirmed your session date and time.

What are the best ages for me to have my child photographed?

Babies photograph best at newborn (8-15 days old), 4 months (when they can hold their head up), 6-8 months (when they can sit on their own or start crawling), and 12 months for their 1st birthday, then again every year after. I also photograph older children of any age and large family (generations photos).

Newborns are best photographed before they are 15 days old , so let me know in advance before the baby is born so we can plan and schedule a session. I am very competent in handling newborns and babies having trained under the best in the world and have extensive experience working with them. The newborn sessions are very professional, hygienic, relaxing and tender. I also do home service sessions.

How do we schedule the newborn shoot if we don’t know when the baby will be born?

Whether your are giving birth via C-section or via Normal delivery, planning a newborn
shoot should start early so please contact me at least a few months in advance in order to
secure a slot as my calendar does fill up. Once we have discussed your shoot particulars
and the deposit has been secured, I will block off a time frame for you close to your due
date as we do know that babies arrivals can be quite unpredictable to ensure you have a
slot.

Where can my photo session be held?

Sessions can be at my private studio or at an outdoor location of your choice (I am happy to travel to a location, please talk to me about travel fees if you live more than 15km from my area). Newborn shoots can be done home service as well.

How can I get more detailed information about my session?

Once you have confirmed your booking, I will be sending you a detailed information pack that will include all the info you need to know, wardrobe/clothing suggestions and what to bring with you and how to prepare among others.

When can I see my photos?

Within 5-7 days of your session, I will send you a password protected link to your online
proof (*good shots only) gallery. I encourage your to place your orders right away as I only
keep files for 6 months.

How do I purchase my photos and order prints?

When I email you the link to the proofing gallery this will include an online ordering system. Payments can be made via check, bank deposit or cash for now.

I am available throughout this whole process to help you with your selections, offer advice on wall art and prints/albums and answer any questions you may have.

When will I receive my order?

Perfection takes time. Orders usually take around 3-6 weeks to be complete after you have sent the order form.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us via email and I will be happy to reply with you as soon as I can.

Digital Media Preservation

When I send you the download link, immediately save the files to your computer, backup drive and online cloud storage. A USB flash drive is not advisable for long term storage as it is vulnerable to damage, content can be lost easily and the storage technology will one day be obsolete (just like floppy discs and cds are now).

Create “master” copies of images and save them on an external hard drive as well as your internal hard drive and cloud storage online. I am not responsible for the loss or corruption of any of your images.

Print Care: Prints are affected by heat, sunlight and moisture – make sure you frame your prints properly and keep them in a cool, dry place to make them last longer. Acid free albums are recommended for loose prints.

Printing Recommendations

For the best results, please print with a professional lab with no color corrections. Because print quality varies greatly from lab to lab, no guarantees can be made about print quality from a non-professional lab.

Sickness Policy

We take the utmost care to maintain the cleanliness of our studio and props to keep them germ free. Due to the recent measles outbreak and proliferation of the flu. We are now implementing a strict sickness policy. Your newborn and babies safety is the utmost important thing for us.

All Clients MUST be symptom free for at least 48 hours before coming to a session. This includes runny noses and sore throats most especially.

We will not photograph your baby /child if you or they show any signs of illness. With that being said, we also ask that you and your children be symptom free for 48 hours to help protect our other client’s newborns and ourselves as well.

If you or any child shows up sick, you will be sent home and have to pay a P2,500 fee to reschedule your session. This is non-negotiable. Safety is our #1 priority. Thank you for your understanding and compliance.
